Bring your friends and family to this exciting week of music-themed programming! Walk-ins are always welcome but we ask that you RSVP for Lunch and Dessert Socials when possible so we can plan accordingly.
Tuesday August 1st:
10:30AM Movie Screening: "Once"The enchanting true story of a Dublin street musician who is about to give up on his dream when he meets a charming young woman. Together they make beautiful music. This story highlights pursuing your dreams and the power music has to connect us all.

1:00 Elissa Berardi: Concert & Conversation
New Horizons' Director and acclaimed recorderist Elissa Berardi will play selections and discuss music from the 17th and 18th centuries. This program will include music from Holland, England, and the court of Louis XIV, and even a traditional Native American dance piece - all to demonstrate the beauty and universality of the recorder.

Tai Chi instructor Barbara Lorenz leads this interactive program that pairs traditional Tai Chi movements with a variety of music.

10:30AM "How Do Composers Compose?" - Kathleen PiersonKathleen Pierson, Master of Music (Composition), Music Theory and History teacher, will sing, play piano and guitar to explain the mystery of composing music in this fun, entertaining and interactive presentation.

1:00 Schulykill Valley Boys Perform
Performance of classic Irish and Folk Music, Broadway, Country Western and Big Band performed by a ukelele and vocal trio. We're pleased to welcome back the Schulykill Valley Boys! Singing along is encouraged!

1:00 David Levine: African AdventuresDavid Levine will bring his Kora, an exotic African instrument, and discuss his experiences living in Africa and working with "West Africa Medicine and Education" (WAME). WAME has been actively helping medical clinics in rural Africa by digging wells, installing plumbing and solar electricity and helping kids get an education.
